In math class we are working on Area with some perimeter questions.

In Social Studies we will learn about Custer, Chief Joseph, Lewis and Clark, and Calamity Jane.

My oh my! The year is flying by!!!

Week of March 17

Hello!

We have finished our non-fiction series in our reading class. It went very well. This week we are reading Two Bad Ants.

Math - Our fraction test is Wednesday and then we will begin perimeter and area.

Social Studies - I have Mrs. McMorris' class and we are studying "Where Do I Live?". Our first test is on Wednesday.

No spelling this week. We will work on creative writing and cursive.

Week of March 2

Hello!

Reminders:
Picture Day is this Friday!
Midterms come home this Friday, too!

In reading we are continuing with non-fiction stories. Your child should have brought home The Albertosaurus Mystery to read to you and then test.

Math - Fraction!! Our ice cream sundae party is this Friday at 2:00. The children will build their sundae depending on how far they got on their facts

Social Studies - Your child has a test over the map of Montana on Thursday. A blank map was sent home so that they can study.

Week of February 23 -27

Hello!

Due to the short week, there was no spelling. We worked on our cursive handwriting!

We are cruising through 3rd quarter! The kids are working very hard!

In reading we are working on our non-fiction book called Polar Bears and the Arctic.

In math we begin our fraction unit on Monday.

Social Studies has been a lot of fun as we study Montana.

Week of February 9 -13

Hello!

We had a wonderful field trip to the Audubon Center last week and I am hopeful that your child was able to share some of the events that we did!

Wednesday - Early out!
Friday - Valentines' Day party at 2:00 and pay $1 to wear pajamas for outlawing cancer.

In reading class we are reading a nonfiction book called Polar Bears and the Arctic.

In math we are working on division.

In Social Studies we are working on learning about Montana and its many facts.

Spelling words: hole, whole, its, it's, hear, here, won, one, our, hour, their, there, fur, fir, read, rode, peace, piece.

Week of February 2 - 6

Hello!

This week is a little off because of the third grade field trips. The third grade classes will attend the field trip to the Audubon Center on these days:

Mrs. McMorris' class - Monday
Mr. Leintz' class - Tuesday
Mrs. Staffileno's class - Thursday

There will be no spelling this week as the children will be doing activities with their homeroom teachers the days that the other class is gone.

Bring 100 treats for our 100 day trail mix by Friday!

Bring an empty box with a slit in it and covered in paper by Friday for decorating.
